HISTORY
In the beginning of 1960 the carpenter Aarne Liias started to work as an entrepreneur in the farmhouse in Kalajoki town. There was a certain demand for the dining sets made of solid pine. The company expand its operations and changed the name as Pirtti-kaluste Liias Ky in 1966.
In the beginning of the business activities the factory located in Kalajoki town. However the business expanded and the factory got too small very quickly. Alahärmä town gave a possibility for the company to build a new factory in Härmä region in 1970.
Mr Aarne Liias had two sons who came involved with the business after they graduated from the school. After Aarne Liias passed away his older son Pekka Liias bought all the company’s share from his brother. Since that Pekka Liias has had the controlling interest in the company.
Liias Pirtti-Kaluste is a family owned company and Pekka Liias works as Managing Director. His wife Sanna Liias works as a Marketing Manager in the company. Janne Liias is their son and he works also in the management group of the company.
